1. Who we are

Claricito is an emotional intelligence platform. References to "Claricito," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to the company that operates the Claricito application and website at claricito.com.

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal data we collect when you use the Claricito mobile app, visit our website, or otherwise interact with our services.

2. Our privacy promise

Before the legal detail, here is our plain-language commitment:

Your personal information and emotional data are never sold to third parties. Not to advertisers. Not to data brokers. Not to anyone.

Claricito has no advertising model. Your emotional life does not fund our business. Your subscription does.

Your moods, reflections, conversations with Clari, and emotional patterns belong to you. You can export or delete them at any time.

Camera, microphone, and environment features require your explicit consent every session. There is no background monitoring.

3. What we collect and why

3.1 Account information

When you create a Claricito account, we collect your name, email address, and the password you choose (stored as a secure hash — we never store your actual password). We use this to identify you, authenticate your sessions, and send you important service communications.

3.2 Profile and personality data

During onboarding and through ongoing use, we collect information you provide about yourself: your personality type, age range, life stage, core values, support preferences, energy patterns, and current stressors. We use this to personalise every aspect of your Claricito experience — the prompts Clari uses, the insights the EQ Dashboard surfaces, and the Community Circle we suggest for you.

3.3 Mood and reflection data

Your daily mood check-ins, reflection journal entries, emotional ratings, and selected emotional tags are collected and stored. This is the heart of your Claricito experience — it is what allows Clari to understand your emotional patterns over time and give you increasingly relevant support.

3.4 Conversation data

Your conversations with Clari are stored to provide session continuity and to allow Clari to reference previous conversations in future sessions. You can delete individual conversations or your complete conversation history at any time from within the app.

3.5 Usage data

We collect anonymised information about how you use the app — which features you access, how often, session duration, and similar technical data. This helps us understand what is working and what needs improvement. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you individually.

3.6 Device and technical data

We collect your device type, operating system version, app version, and IP address for the purposes of providing the service, diagnosing technical issues, and preventing fraud. Your IP address is anonymised for analytics purposes.

4. Sensitive emotional data

We recognise that mood data, mental health patterns, and emotional reflections are among the most sensitive categories of personal information that exist. We apply additional protections to this data:

  • Emotional data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption.
  • Emotional data is accessible only to the systems required to provide your Claricito experience. No human Claricito employee has routine access to your individual emotional content.
  • Emotional data is never used to create advertising profiles or shared with advertising networks.
  • Aggregate, anonymised signals (for example, the proportion of users who log a particular emotion category in a given week) may be used internally to improve the product. These aggregates cannot be traced back to you.
  • Individual emotional content — specific mood entries, reflection text, conversation transcripts — never appears in any admin or analytics view in identifiable form.

5. How we use your data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service. Delivering your Claricito experience, including personalised Clari responses, EQ Dashboard insights, mood pattern analysis, and Community Circle participation.
  • Improving the service. Using aggregated, anonymised data to understand how the app is being used, identify areas for improvement, and develop new features.
  • Communicating with you. Sending service notifications, security alerts, and — with your consent — updates about new features and the app launch. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
  • Safety and security. Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Legal compliance. Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and valid legal requests.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not create advertising profiles, and do not share your data with marketing platforms.

6. Who we share data with

We share personal data only in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 Service providers

We use trusted third-party services to operate Claricito — including cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services), push notification services, and payment processors. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict contractual obligations that prohibit them from using your data for any other purpose.

6.2 AI providers

Clari's conversational intelligence is powered by AI. When you have a conversation with Clari, relevant context from your conversation and user model is sent to our AI provider to generate Clari's response. We have contractual agreements with our AI providers that prohibit them from using your data for model training or any purpose other than generating your response.

6.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Claricito, our users, or others.

6.4 Business transfers

If Claricito is acquired by or merged with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and your rights with respect to your data.

We never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes.

7. AI and Clari

Clari's responses are generated by AI. Here is what that means in practice for your privacy:

  • When you start a conversation with Clari, relevant signals from your user profile — your personality type, recent mood, active stressors, and session context — are assembled into a prompt and sent to our AI provider to generate Clari's response.
  • Your raw conversation text is included in the prompt when you are mid-conversation, so Clari can respond to what you have said.
  • This data is used only to generate your response. It is not used to train AI models. Our AI provider agreements prohibit this explicitly.
  • Sensitive identity signals — your age range, gender, and life stage — are used to personalise Clari's responses but are never logged as part of analytics events.
  • Clari never makes diagnostic claims and is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

8. Camera, microphone, and environment sensing

Claricito offers optional features — Scene Check, Facial Emotions, and Ambient Session — that use your device's camera and microphone. These features are governed by the following rules:

  • Always user-initiated. You must explicitly start each session. There is no passive or background sensing of any kind.
  • Active indicator always visible. When camera or microphone access is active, an in-app indicator is displayed at all times.
  • Separate consent per feature. Consent for front-facing camera (Facial Emotions) is separate from consent for environment camera (Scene Check) and separate from microphone consent (Ambient Session).
  • Ephemeral by default. Raw video and audio are processed in real time and discarded immediately by default. Only structured insights — emotional signals derived from the media — may be retained, and only with your explicit choice to save the session.
  • No face recognition. Claricito does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification of any kind. Facial emotion signals are classifications (e.g., tension, fatigue) — not identity-linked records.
  • Third-party capture. If your camera captures other people — for example, when using Scene Check in a shared environment — we apply stricter processing restrictions. Incidental capture of third parties is processed for environmental context only (crowd density, visual chaos) and is never used to identify or profile individuals.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Access. The right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction. The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion. The right to request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from within the Claricito app at any time.
  • Portability. The right to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction. The right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Objection. The right to object to the processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
  • Withdrawal of consent. Where we process your data on the basis of consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal.

10. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. Specific retention periods:

  • Account data — retained until you delete your account.
  • Mood and reflection data — retained until you delete your account or individually delete entries within the app.
  • Conversation data — retained until you delete your account or delete individual conversations within the app.
  • Raw video and audio — discarded immediately after processing by default. Retained only if you explicitly choose to save a session, and for no longer than 30 days after that choice.
  • Usage analytics — retained in anonymised, aggregated form for up to 2 years.
  • Legal hold data — retained for as long as required by applicable law.

When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

11. Security

We implement and maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
  • Encryption of personal data at rest using AES-256.
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data to those with a specific business need.
  • Regular security assessments and penetration testing.
  • Incident response procedures for prompt detection and notification of data breaches.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].

12. Children

Claricito is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us at [email protected].

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have provided one) and by posting a prominent notice within the Claricito app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Claricito after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

We will maintain an archive of previous versions of this policy, which you can request by contacting us.
